Calcined Kaolin
- Detailed
Calcined Kaolin is a kind of super white alumina silicate bulking filler. After being calcined, it has finer particle size and higher radius-thickness ratio, which can afford excellent xero-opacity and outstanding tinctorial power in coating. Therefore, it is also usually applied to replace titanium dioxide partly for lower costs. In hydrous and oily series, especially in the case of high requirement of product's brightness, it is applied as functionality additive to coating, ink, adhesive, plastic and other industries.
Calcined Kaolin Benefits:
1. Compared with other kaolin products, besides the common properties of low impurity, strong chemical inertness and easy dispersion, it can also supply higher opacity and furthest pigment's tinctorial power.
2. Higher brightness than the similar competitive grade and sterling tint.
3. It regulates paint film's luster in latex paint and is applicable in satinwood finish and dumbness paint.
4. It can be applied to hydrous and solvent pigments to improve paint film's mechanical property and scrub tolerance and antifouling capacity.
5. It can replace titanium dioxide partly without the effect on paint film's brightness and opacity,.Thus the cost of pigment can be lowered, and the paint film's idio mechanical property will not be influenced but can be improved. The replacing quantity is decided by titanium dioxide's addition level of about 15% of its volume.
